The rain had stopped less than an hour earlier when Daniel noticed something unusual on the side of the mountain road.
He was driving home just before sunset when he saw a woman lying near the edge of the pavement, partly hidden by the thick vegetation.
At first, he thought she had fallen.
He pulled his car over, stepped out, and walked toward her.
“Miss? Are you okay?”
She didn’t answer.
Daniel immediately called emergency services and stayed several feet away while waiting for help. The woman was breathing, but she appeared unconscious.
A few minutes later, another driver stopped. Together, they tried to keep the area clear while waiting for the ambulance.
When the paramedics arrived, they carefully moved the woman onto a stretcher.
She eventually opened her eyes.
According to the woman, she had been walking along the road when she suddenly became dizzy. She remembered trying to sit down near the roadside, but nothing after that.
Her phone and bag were still beside her.
There were no signs of a crash.
Police later spoke with her and checked the surrounding area. They found no evidence of an attack or robbery.
The incident left Daniel thinking about how easily the woman could have remained hidden from passing traffic.
“If I had driven past a few seconds faster, I might never have seen her,” he later said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for examination and was expected to recover.
The photograph from the roadside later spread across social media, with people attaching different explanations to what happened.
But the real story was much simpler.
A driver noticed someone in trouble, stopped, and called for help.
